Effective date: October 17, 2026
Applies to: the CogMyra website (cogmyra.com), the CogMyra apps for iPhone and Android, and the Praxis Core Math program (“CogMyra” or “the Service”).
These Terms are an agreement between you and CogMyra, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“CogMyra”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using CogMyra, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use CogMyra.
1. What CogMyra is
CogMyra is an AI learning coach. It helps you understand ideas, work through problems and practice, in any subject. Its replies are written by an AI model (Claude, made by Anthropic). The coach teaches: it explains, gives hints and works similar examples, and it does not do your work for you or give you the final answer to your own assignment.
CogMyra is not a teacher, tutor service, counselor, doctor or lawyer, and it is not a crisis or emergency service. AI can be wrong. Check anything important with a trusted source. If you are in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number; in the United States you can call or text 988 at any time.
2. Who can use CogMyra
- You must be 13 or older. If you are under 13, do not use CogMyra.
- If you are 13 to 17, please read these Terms with a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians can contact us at hello@cogmyra.com about a teen’s account, including to ask us to delete it.
- If you use CogMyra through a school, college or employer, that organization’s agreement with us also applies, and the organization may set additional rules.
- You must give accurate information, including your age group.
3. Your account
You sign in with your email address and a one-time code, or with Sign in with Apple or Google where offered. Keep access to your email secure; anyone who can read it may be able to sign in. Tell us at hello@cogmyra.com if you think someone else has used your account. One person per account; do not share or transfer it.
4. Doing your own work
CogMyra is built to help you learn, not to hand in work that is not yours. You are responsible for following your school’s, instructor’s or employer’s rules about using AI. Do not use CogMyra, or try to get around how it teaches, to cheat on tests, assignments or certifications.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use CogMyra to:
- break the law or help anyone else break it;
- harass, bully, threaten or harm anyone, or share someone else’s private information;
- create or ask for sexual content, content that sexualizes minors, hateful content, or instructions that could seriously hurt people;
- try to make the coach ignore its rules, or to extract its instructions or internal settings;
- get into accounts, systems or data that are not yours, or test or break our security;
- use bots, scrapers or automated tools to access CogMyra, or overload it;
- copy, resell or republish CogMyra or its content, or use it to build a competing product or train AI models.
Every message and reply is checked for safety. We may block messages, end chats, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
6. Your content
What you write and add (messages, photos, files, your note for the coach, Tracker items, courses, syllabi and learning outcomes, ratings and reports) is your content, and you keep ownership of it. You give CogMyra permission to store, process and use your content to provide CogMyra to you, keep it safe, and improve it as described in the Privacy Policy, and to share it with our service providers (including Anthropic, to write replies, and OpenAI, to speak the coach’s replies aloud in Myra’s voice) for those purposes. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for information that no longer identifies you. We do not use your content to train AI models.
Only add content you have the right to share. Do not add other people’s private information.
7. The coach’s replies
You may use the coach’s replies for your own learning. Replies can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and similar questions can get different replies. Report a reply that is wrong or not okay with the thumbs down or Report reply; the CogMyra team reviews reports.
8. Plans and limits
You can use CogMyra free, with a daily message limit. Organizations can license CogMyra for their learners, with the limits in their agreement. We may change features and limits. The apps do not sell anything.
Praxis Core Math program. The paid Praxis Core Math program is sold on the website only, through Stripe. Its price, refunds and details are in the Refund Policy and the Non-Affiliation Disclosure, which are part of these Terms. CogMyra is not affiliated with ETS. We do not guarantee any test result.
9. Reminders and messages
If you turn on reminders in the app, we send at most one a day, at the time you choose and outside your quiet hours. They never include anything you wrote. You can turn them off at any time. We may email you about your account and important changes to CogMyra.
10. Our property
CogMyra, including its software, design, coaching approach and materials, belongs to CogMyra, Inc. or its licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable permission to use CogMyra under these Terms. “CogMyra” and the CogMyra logo are our trademarks.
11. Apps from the App Store and Google Play
If you use a CogMyra app, the app store’s terms also apply. For the iPhone app: these Terms are between you and CogMyra, Inc., not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, has no duty to provide maintenance or support for it, and is not responsible for any claims about it (including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims); if the app fails to meet any warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of any purchase price (the app is free), and Apple has no other warranty duty; you confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo or on a US prohibited parties list; and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Other services
CogMyra relies on other companies, such as Anthropic for AI, Supabase for storage and Apple and Google for sign-in and app delivery. Their own terms may apply to how they provide their services. We are not responsible for services we do not control.
13. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me, then Privacy and your data, then Delete account), on the website (your account page), or by emailing hello@cogmyra.com. Deleting it in the app or on the website happens right away and cannot be undone. We may suspend or close your account if you break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering CogMyra. If we stop offering CogMyra, we will give reasonable notice when we can, and refund any unused prepaid fees for the Praxis program as the Refund Policy explains. Sections 6, 10 and 14 to 18 continue after your account ends.
14. Disclaimers
COGMYRA IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT COGMYRA WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE, ERROR FREE OR CORRECT, OR THAT IT WILL PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR LEARNING OR TEST RESULT. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.
15. Limits on our liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, COGMYRA, INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES AND SUPPLIERS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM COGMYRA OR THESE TERMS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND 100 US DOLLARS. Some places do not allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
16. Indemnity
If you are 18 or older, you agree to cover CogMyra, Inc.’s reasonable losses and costs from claims caused by your breaking these Terms or the law, or by content you add.
17. Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Before starting a formal claim, contact us at hello@cogmyra.com and give us at least 30 days to try to resolve it; we will do the same for you. Any claim will be brought in the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction, except that either of us may bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies.
18. General
- Changes. When we change these Terms in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date, post them at cogmyra.com/terms, and tell you in the app, on the website or by email before the change takes effect. If you keep using CogMyra after that, the new Terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using it and you may delete your account.
- Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of our business or assets; the Privacy Policy’s business transfer section explains what happens to your information.
- Whole agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and for the Praxis program the Refund Policy and Non-Affiliation Disclosure, are the whole agreement between you and us about CogMyra. If any part cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part is not a waiver.
- Notices. We may send notices by email, in the app or on the website. Send notices to hello@cogmyra.com.
