Common questions
How do I sign in?
Enter your email address. We send you an email with a 6-digit code and a sign-in button. In the app, type the code. On the website, type the code or press the button. There is no password to remember.
I did not get the sign-in email.
Check your spam, junk or promotions folder, and make sure the address is spelled right. Wait a minute, then ask for a new code. Each code works for one hour.
Will the Guide give me the answers?
No, and that is the point. The Guide explains ideas and works through similar examples with you, then helps you do your own problem. If you are really stuck, it gives you a hint or the next step, never your finished work.
Can I add a photo of my homework?
Yes. Add up to 4 photos or 1 PDF to a message, with the paperclip on the website or the camera in the app. The Guide reads them and helps you work through the problem yourself.
Can I talk instead of type?
Yes. Press the microphone to say your message, and use Read aloud to hear a reply. Your device, or your browser or phone maker’s speech service, turns your voice into text. CogMyra receives only the text, never a recording.
How do reminders work?
In the app, open Me, then Reminders. Choose a time and quiet hours. You get at most one reminder a day, and it never includes anything you wrote. Turn reminders off there at any time.
Who can see my chats?
Teachers, schools, employers and other learners cannot read your chats, even if you join their class. You can download or delete them at any time. More is on Privacy and safety.
A reply was wrong or not okay. What do I do?
Press the thumbs down under the reply and choose what was wrong. In the app you can also press and hold a reply and choose Report reply. The CogMyra team reviews these reports. Every message is also checked for safety before the coach answers, and every reply as soon as it is written; a reply that is not safe is replaced right away.
Is it free?
You can start free, with a daily message limit. Schools, colleges and companies can license CogMyra for their learners.
Who is CogMyra for?
Anyone aged 13 and up. People under 13 cannot create an account.
How do I download or delete my chats?
On the website, open your account page to download everything or delete all chats. In the app, open Me, then Privacy and your data. You can also delete a single chat from your list of chats.
Delete your account
You can delete your account and everything in it at any time:
- In the app: open Me, tap Privacy and your data, then Delete account.
- On the website: sign in, open your account page, and choose Delete account.
- By email: write to hello@cogmyra.com from the address you use with CogMyra, with the subject “Delete my account”.
What is deleted and what we keep is on Delete your account.
